Graduate/Post-doc Students Teaching in Higher Education Conference
Empowering the Next Generation of Educators
ITeach is excited to announce the inaugural Graduate/Post-doc Students Teaching in Higher Education Conference: Empowering the Next Generation of Educators, a unique virtual gathering dedicated to graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who are actively engaged in teaching within higher education, either as sessionals/adjuncts, teaching assistants (TAs), or other teaching-type of positions.

It is designed to help you develop and improve your teaching skills and a great opportunity to connect and share your ideas and experiences with other graduate/post-doc students.

-
Syllabus Development

Educational Assessment in the Age of AI
-
Lesson Planning
-
Class Management and Student Engagement Strategies

AI in Teaching and Learning and Prompting 101
Participants can look forward to engaging in hands-on activities using the LMS Moodle. Throughout the sessions, we will explore AI-powered tools within the context of higher education, fostering discussions on the opportunities and implications of incorporating technology into teaching and assessment strategies.
We are particularly excited about our new Inclusive Teaching module. Inclusive teaching is vital for creating an environment where every student feels valued and supported. This module will focus on strategies that accommodate diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning needs. Participants will learn about universal design for learning (UDL), cultural competency, and equitable assessment practices, which will empower them to enhance student engagement and success.

EndNote
Will you be working on a thesis or writing up a lot of research papers? Is it challenging to keep your research citation data and PDFs organized and easily accessible? If you’re not already using a citation manager, try out EndNote, a citation management tool that is free to download for all current U of L researchers.
EndNote workshops schedule, as well as video tutorials, can be found here
If you're looking for help in troubleshooting an EndNote problem, feel free to send an email to library.endnote@uleth.ca
NVivo
NVivo workshop dates (for Windows users) are available here.
In your next research project, will you need to analyze a fair amount of qualitative data (e.g., interviews, focus groups, open-ended survey questions)? If so, in this hands-on, two-part workshop for Windows users, you will learn how to use NVivo, an application designed to help organize, analyze, and create meaning from unstructured data. Register or find out more about NVivo here
The University of Hull Library offers a series of short videos on various aspects of NVivo for Windows (Release 1), a slightly older version that is essentially the same as NVivo 14 in functionality and layout, which can be found on this page as well, as there are no workshops over the summer months.
i4Geo 2025 Workshop Series
The i4Geo Geospatial Science & Technology Series offers a dynamic, hands-on workshop experience designed to equip participants with advanced skills and practical knowledge across a wide range of geospatial analyses and applications. While all modules can be attended in a ‘watch and learn’ format, select sessions also allow participants to follow along on their own laptops, provided the necessary software and files are preloaded. Don’t miss this opportunity to enhance your geospatial expertise!
